“Sopo Bicycle Cooperative is a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)3 charitable organization that facilitates the collective ownership and operation of a bicycle repair shop. Membership is contingent upon participation in shop activities. All participants turn wrenches. No prior experience is necessary.”
In the duration of the SOPO Bicycle Cooperative Web Redesign case study, we were interested in gaining insights into why the user comes to SOPO bicycle shop and if they use the current website. In addition to that, we wanted to know about the user task of the user once they visited the website.
OUR OBJECTIVE
We are redesigning the SOPO website in order to gain new customers and effectively relay the SOPO message. SOPO’s mission is to create equitable access to cycling by providing no/low-cost bicycle maintenance services and education.
USER TESTING
In the duration of this case study, we were interested in gaining insights into why the user comes to SOPO bicycle shop and if they use the current website. In addition to that, we wanted to know about the user task of the user once they visited the website. We felt as if the following questions were the most important:
Let’s say you would like to make a monetary donation to SOPO, how would you go about doing that?
How many different ways can you volunteer?
What is SOPO’s phone number?

FINAL THOUGHTS
Build out a bike shopping page where users can see the bike’s inventory of bicycles so SOPO can sell more bikes and reduce their inventory.
Fix all user complaints by adding a Contact page under the About section, adjusting form fields and font size on the donation page on desktop, contact font size on the mobile, and building out all pages.
More testing, more iterations.
Build out more user animations like hovering on desktop for a more exciting interaction experience.
